millennials + web3 = 😍
millennials and web3 are a match made in heaven
we’re a match made in heaven
Millennials are the transition generation. We’re the OG organic UX/UI testers, the guinea pigs upon which every digital innovation that’s now commonplace across the internet was experimented.
We know how to spot an inflection point, a major trend off in the distance. From experience. We lived it.
I remember thinking I didn’t need an iPhone - and that bluetooth was stupid. Now, smartphones are a given, and I expect bluetooth interoperability between all my devices, even places I don’t control like a hotel or rental car.
Web3 needs us too because we bring the use cases, we know how to muddy our way through new operating systems, and how to make them usable.
I like to describe the current state of web3 like digital music in the early 2000s - millennials remember it well:
feminizing web3
the future of the internet is feminine
feminist use cases of on-chain capacities
Women and non-binary people will use this technology in such far-reaching ways. It’s time to focus on our needs and build specifically for us.
Data privacy and security
When the first/best on-chain menstruation tracking app competes with web2 UX, it’s a wrap.
Creation and IP
Systemically, we miss out the most on benefitting from our creations and contributions.
Ethical Consumerism
We care what we consume; and our consumer power is only on the rise. To win our purchasing power, future businesses will need to prove the ethics of their sourcing, production, and practices. We want the receipts! Fashion, skincare, wellness, food, more.
Financial Sovereignty
The next generations are already shifting the tides of financial realities. We earn more than ever before, we’re living more independently and dynamically than ever before - globally. We need financial operating systems designed for our modern realities, which are borderless, entrepreneurial, digital - and built to be owned and controlled by us.
hot take: dating apps are dead
the next wave of dating solutions can’t come soon enough
they failed us, and we’re revolting.
My algorithm has my interest and opinion completely dialed in on this. My IG feed is like a group chat of confirmation bias - but I stand by it
Contract Failure
They love profit more than they profit from love.
broken trust, psychological and physical safety, and breaking the customer contract.
Tides are Turning
There are bigger socioeconomic shifts at play. Globally, evidence is showing political divide is growing between men and women. Let’s just say it: they’re choosing the patriarchy.
Bad UX
Why are they all the same experience? We don’t want to sift through a pile of profiles, say yay/nay, chat, and ghost. This same format is copy/pasted across the landscape. None of it matches what actually works: most couples meet through work, friends, and common interests. What would it look like if dating platforms evolved to be based on the social science of success?
Hey, Sharks…
Here’s my next wave dating app pitch:
